Montgomery County Detectives Investigate Olney Shooting

 Per the Montgomery County Police: Detectives from the Montgomery County Police- 4th District Investigations Section are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the 2700 block of Spartan Road in Olney. Detectives have released video surveillance of a vehicle of interest and suspect.   The initial investigation has revealed that a white Ford Fusion with minor front end damage was observed in the bus turn-around of the parking lot at Brooke Grove Elementary School. Multiple individuals were observed in and around the vehicle. An unknown Black male suspect, who was observed outside of Ford, discharged a firearm multiple times and then left the scene on foot. No one was injured during the shooting. The vehicle was then seen driving away from the scene.   This remains an active and ongoing investigation.   Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding this shooting or the suspect(s) involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-

Body Located in Potomac Identified as Missing Rockville Man

Per Montgomery County Police: The body of an adult male recovered along the Potomac River on Monday, April 3, 2023, has been identified. Officers were called to the area south of the Angler’s boat ramp at approximately 2 p.m. for the report of a body in the water. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and identified as 56-year-old Neil Bernstein of Rockville. Bernstein was reported missing and last seen on Friday, February 17 in Great Falls Park near Macarthur Blvd. on the Maryland side. He was positively identified on Monday, April 10.

Montgomery County Police Detectives Investigating Murder of Twenty-Year-Old in White Oak

  Per Montgomery County Police : Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, April 9, 2023, on Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring.   At approximately 3:22 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to a residence in the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike to assist Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services.   Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with trauma to the body. Officers provided life saving measures to the victim who was then transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.   The decedent has been identified as 20-year-old, Carlos Rashard Carter of Silver Spring.   The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to officially determine the cause and manner of the death.   There is currently no suspect in custody and this is an active and ongoing investigation.   Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact Crime Solvers of

Driver Hits, Kills 2 Dogs, Seriously Injures Pedestrian on Muncaster Mill

This post will be updated as additional information is released.  Per Montgomery County Police: MCPD is investigating a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Muncaster Mill Rd. between Bowie Mill Rd. and Needwood Rd. 1 person has been [transported by MCFRS to an area Trauma Center] with serious injuries. 2 dogs have been killed as a result of the collision.

Frederick County Sheriff and Gun Dealer Indicted for Scheme to Illegally Acquire Machineguns

Baltimore , Maryland – A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Charles Austin Jenkins, age 66, of Thurmont, Maryland, and Robert Justin Krop, age 36, of Frederick, Maryland, with conspiracy and false statements in order to acquire machineguns.  Krop is also charged with illegal possession of machineguns.  No court appearance is scheduled for the defendants at this time.  The indictment was announced by Erek L. Barron, United States Attorney for the District of Maryland and Special Agent in Charge Toni M. Crosby of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Baltimore Field Division. As detailed in the indictment, Charles Jenkins has been the Sheriff of Frederick County since his election in 2006 and was most recently re-elected in 2022.  Robert Krop is the principal owner and operator of firearms-related businesses in Frederick County.  Krop and his businesses held up to two Federal Firearms Licenses (“FFLs”) that allowed Krop and the business, under
